Construction begins-May-June

We have started on our house on Anchor Way at Harbor Isles (golf course) in Klamath Falls. I may not write much but will post our progress with pictures. I will try to do more when I get the hang of this blogging stuff. I have already messed up 2 times. I might not be able to get the pictures in order. I have alot to figure out and not much time to do it.

We excavated out 32 inches of dirt.

We bent over 600 pieces of rebar by hand. Contractor vibrated 42 timber pilings into the ground about 15 - 17 feet deep.

Then we cut off the tops of the pilings, all to the same hight, in the rain of course.

After that we placed the concrete forms we had made over the pilings.

Of course these had to be straight and level as well. Larea looked through the tranist while I held the pole.

There were 42 pilings, so there were 42 form boxes.

In the form boxes we had to place #6 rebar - 4 of them.

My biggest fear was that the boxes might come apart once the concrete went in, but they all held.

After they cured we removed the forms and put all the dirt back. Took 2 days in that bobcat.

Not a lot of room for my legs either.

Next came more rebar.

Just about everyday our neighbors and the pelicans usually pay us a vist to see the progress.
LaRea treating the foundation wall boards. Alot of them!!
Putting up the foundation walls of plywood and 2 X 6's.
LaRea screwed the lower brackets on.
I made the pictures a little bigger. Hope it helps.
